The Society for Finnish Information Specialists is a non-profit professional organisation for those working in the field of retrieving, analysing, recording and disseminating information in various forms.
The Association, founded in 1947, has today about 700 members.
The goal of the Association is to promote information services,
develop professional skills of its members and to enhance research and publishing in its area of expertise and to act as a general liaison in the fields of information and knowledge management.
The Association performs these functions by promoting general awareness of the knowledge management and information sector and by arranging professional training and seminars, by supporting research and co-operating with Finnish and international organisations and by acting as a professional network.
